"No DFU capable USB device available"

#1

Hello all,

I decided to try setting up my Choosatron manually, but get this error in the topic when trying to execute the first command:

dfu-util -d 1d50:607f -a 0 -s 0x08005000:leave -D choosatron-core-v100.bin

Does anyone know what would be causing it? I have installed the drives, plugged in my device and put it into DFU mode.

Hi @sg_mac,

It sounds like either a driver issue or maybe needing to run ‘sudo’ (if you’re on a Mac, or Linux computer). You can check and get a list of dfu’able devices by typing:

dfu-util -l

#OR if permissions are needed
sudo dfu-util -l

# if you see a device showing up as "1d50:607f"
sudo dfu-util -d 1d50:607f -a 0 -s 0x08005000:leave -D choosatron-core-v100.bin

Can you give that a try and let me know if that helps?

If you’re on Windows, try opening the Command Prompt as an Administrator.

Thanks,
David

Make sure it’s in DFU mode before you plug it in.

On a side note: I’ve been watching the source code changes on GitHub. There has been a lot of work on Write happening lately. Hopefully it won’t be too much longer before there is an easier way to get the Choosatron up and running.
